Margravine Cemetery and North Lodge

Margravine Cemetery and North Lodge

North Lodge in Margravine Gardens, Fulham, London, W6, was designed by architect George Saunders for the newly formed Hammersmith Burial Board in 1869. The cemetery was originally called Hammersmith Cemetery and it had three lodges, two chapels, and (later?) a small octagonal mortuary which I understand is now a store.

North Lodge went on the market on 29/08/2025, for sale at an eye-watering £3,000,000. Although the garden looks rather like a graveyard, it's actually a roof garden over a basement room. Very odd, and the agent's details are remarkably unhelpful in this respect. Unsurprisingly, there has been a bit of controversy around the development of this property.
